When we opened our second location at the specialty retailer I came up under, the systems I'd been running in my head suddenly had to live somewhere else. That gap is where most founders break. CMPL is what I wish I'd had then.
CMPL is three operators who built our careers inside the kind of retail and food businesses we now serve. Between us: a specialty retailer scaled from 4 to 55+ US locations, seven multi-state locations operated and opened, and years of luxury retail standards built into stores that needed turning around.
We started CMPL because we kept seeing the same thing: founders sign the lease on location #2 with no plan for the operational chaos of the buildout-to-opening window, and the second location quietly underperforms the first. That window is our entire focus.
